Wolf Hoffmann of ACCEPT, An interview by the fans for the fans. Backstage in Helsinki, Finland before the ACCEPT show with the Scorpions.
Helsinki – 13 NOV 13
Accept as special guests with The Scorpions
Helsinki tonight witnessed a special event for the two German mega bands: for the first time in history the two performed on the same bill. About time too to cross it from Accept’s “bucket list” as Wolf put it! With over 400 years of Teutonic Craftsmanship on stage, the night is something to remember for all present.
Accept hit the stage with Hung Drawn & Quartered, and perform with their famed frenzy and enthusiasm of bands half their age thirsty for first success. On this fourth visit to Finland of Accept’s current re-incarnation and renewed success, the crowd is ready and welcomes the special guests as warmly as the headliner later in the evening. But this hour belongs to Accept and they parade through a magnificent showcase of old and new material. Old classics like Metal Heart and a shorter arrangement of Princess of the Dawn are joined by modern day classics like Pandemic and Stalingrad, and the band again connects fully with the fans in their trademark easy-going, entertaining and engaging way.
Simply a brilliant show. Check out the action on YouTube!

POWER BY THE GERMAN METAL WORK HORSES
The German heavy metal work horses Scorpions and Accept are on paper from the same mould, but by Hartwall Arena appearance they are from different worlds.
Scorpions albums would compile a strong heavy rock set. Along with encore of hit ballad WoC, the band demonstrated generously their lighter side. Reggea-beatish ITAT was number three on the set list and soon thereafter the band played several songs long acoustical segment of pops and ballads.
When one adds the colorless new material and too long solos, the gig leaves a bland taste. The band offered the must-play hits and little more, but not a strong backboned rock concert.
Accept on the other hand fully used their short set to their advantage.
Their scale ranging from boogie rock to fast heavy metal played solidly and with a good edge.
Guitarist Wolf and company also have a pleasant dose of Pete Townshend and Wilko Johnson mannerism.
And best of all, the current material of the band is well worthy of playing.
ACCEPT fans hail from all over the world. We’ve become acquainted at shows and through various fan groups, forums, and the Metal Hearts Club app. Now, the opportunity for the band and the fans to learn more in depth about each other is here…
